Winter is drawing in all around us, and very soon the longest day of the year will be here, but that doesn't stop us from pondering and planning all the wonderful things to come!

As we set our sights on 2026, we are committed to planning a wonderful array of activities that aspire to enrich our local community of Monmouth and the surrounding towns, welcoming more people than ever into our space and creating a strong sense of community through collaboration.

Long Barn has welcomed a beautifully varied mix of events over the years, each bringing their own rhythm into the space.

We’ve hosted seasonal wreath-making workshops with our neighbour here at Humble by Nature, Haze Flower Farm,  where guests worked with dried and fresh botanicals to create natural, winter-inspired designs.

There have been sound baths and cold-plunge experiences, guided by Hannah, combining breath and stillness, followed by invigoration, all set against the peaceful background of the Welsh countryside.

Hands have been dusted with flour during sourdough-making workshops, where the ancient tradition of slow fermentation was taught and experimented with around the table.

We’ve seen fabric transform and colour bloom during plant dyeing sessions, exploring natural pigments and traditional techniques in a way that felt both ancient and modern.

Yoga has unfolded gently beneath the beams. A gallery open day invited artists and visitors to move through the space differently, seeing the barn as a place for exhibition, conversation and creativity.

Looking Ahead to the New Year

As we step into the new year, willow weaving workshops are already planned, providing space for a grounded introduction into weaving and exploration of tactile therapy. But we hope this is only the beginning.

We’re actively looking to expand the range of experiences held at Long Barn and would love to hear from:

• Wellness practitioners
• Yoga, movement and breathwork teachers
• Crafts, artisans and traditional makers
• Food educators and fermentation experts
• Artists, photographers and curators
• Writers, facilitators and community hosts

If your work centres on creativity, wellbeing, sustainability or slow living, Long Barn could be the right home for your next event.

Why Host at Long Barn
